The company was originally founded in April 1991 as Ecclestone Brothers & Company. At that time it was a pioneer in the production of institutional research covering the Argentine market. It remains the leading independent equities research house in Argentina.
Over the years, Buenos Aires Trust Company has built up a reputation for quality Argentine research that has earned us two runners-up mentions in Institutional Investor magazine (1993 & 1995 surveys) and had it rated in Global Investor magazine in 1996 in the categories, best local researchers for the Argentine market and second best in international researchers covering this market as well as second in best execution in the Argentine market. We earned runners-up in Latin Finance’s July/August 1997 for top brokerages in Argentina.
The sectors covered by the research team are banks, conglomerates, telecoms, construction, steels, food, beverages, retail and agribusiness. The research focus is particularly strong in smaller company coverage but also provides coverage of those large stocks where we have particular strong connections and opinions.
